Arison is a name I came up with for my self as DJ name after ending a night with a sunrise on a North Carolina beach. There are several tall tales from that night... Arison + Tim + E had a ring to it (A-Risen-Time) better lettered Arisontime. It has been 12 years since this night on the beach... and I am changing the name and focus of my company.

In working in the Digital Dome medium one of the constant words used is domemaster.
A domemaster is a rendered image usually in the .png or .jpg format that is intended for projection in a digital dome projection environment. Domemasters are usually around 3600 x 3600 and take a while to render on just one machine. This is why I had to create renderfarms a few years ago to do my artwork. My last renderfarm masterpiece
is sitting at the University of Colorado Denver in the Tech 127 Mac Research Lab. It consists of 36 Mac Pro Octocore machines. Well, the fact is, this data was known 80 years ago. Don’t you think you would have spent a little bit of time on the idea of how to supply the body with a little more hypochlorous acid? The body has been using hypochlorous acid to kill disease germs for a million years.

So any way, the goal here is to describe Miracle Mineral Number Two. It is so far beyond any known medical drug that there is simply no comparison. You can’t compare it with medical drugs as they are not intended to overcome or cure diseases. This MMS2 kills pathogens and actually aids healing. So what is it? As far as an antibiotic is concerned, it kills pathogens instantly by blowing a hole in the skin. It’s not like medical antibiotics which can take from hours to weeks to penetrate the skin of a pathogen, slowly destroying the nucleus or something in the nucleus - if the pathogen hasn't developed resistance. But with MMS2, pathogens that cause diseases of all kinds cannot develop a resistance to hypochlorous acid. The body chose well when it developed the ability to generate hypochlorous acid. Down through the centuries no pathogen has ever developed a resistance to it. I can't wait till the sedan comes out in 2011 it has Maserati styling written all over it.

BFA THESIS COLLEGE OF ARTS & MEDIA

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_b7t0xx4Gvmk/SwTPdlgWWQI/AAAAAAAAAJs/3xEKfdPJp9s/s320/logo.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5405673559942387970" />
For my thesis at University of Colorado Denver College of Arts & Media, BRANDING ARISONTIME is my focus. I am advocating that through the process of modern branding fundamentals a small local company can advance it's position to become a recognized global entity. Since the use of hot Irons burning marks into barrels during the 19th century branding has developed significantly. Intentional branding sets the foundation of how a company is perceived by consumers, employees, and the business industry. Branding Arisontime is the process of how a Denver based company using modern branding techniques can project itself to an international market market while keeping a cohesive strategy and identity.

36 Octocore RENDERFARM UCD CAM by Urz Truly

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_b7t0xx4Gvmk/SwTJGGLFnbI/AAAAAAAAAJk/LwFJ5wss0Qo/s320/IMG_2324.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5405666559324954034" />
<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_b7t0xx4Gvmk/SwTGr8qNYoI/AAAAAAAAAJc/2B3A6GmvHQ4/s320/IMG_2323.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5405663911071277698" />

Hi all,

I'm a fulldome content producer and with that title comes a lot of computer and render farm technology. Tonight I spent from 8pm-9pm breaking my largest render farm record of 26 Apple Octo Cores to 36 Octo Cores in the Technology Building at the University of Colorado College of Arts and Media. My knowledge of how to do this type of business came from a Undergraduate Research Opportunities Grant I received from University of Colorado College of Arts and Media with Bryan Leister in 2007. Since the Grant I have become very savvy with the work flow of getting fulldome content from concept to rendering then processing it to show on the dome. I have to thank Dan Neafus Gates Planetarium Operations director for the support and creating a Planetarium Research position for me at Denver Museum of Nature and Science. Having one of the most advanced planetariums in the world place to test fulldome content on is definitely a privilege. This is a picture I took of the 36 clients of the renderfarm. Any questions contact Timmy Edens timmy@arisontime.com This is how I roll, haha... :) ARISONTIME INSPIRE.CREATE.IMMERSE 303-478-8068 timmy@arisontime.com

BURNINGMAN 2009 )'( How to Experience Burningman From the Comfort of Your Own Home

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 233px; height: 320px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_b7t0xx4Gvmk/SqBr3hSirCI/AAAAAAAAAJI/QgT5bp2xy3M/s320/burningman2009.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5377416556653489186" />
So I have shown this to at least 50 People since i found it on the web.

Im not sure who wrote it but I've been to BURNINGMAN 2004, 2006, 2007, 2008
and I crack up every time i show some one.

So Cheers to any one who isn't making it to BURNINGMAN 2009 the Playa this year.
I'll See you next year for BURNINGMAN 2010.

Here's how to enjoy the Burning Man Experience from the Comfort of your Own Home:
Pay an escort of your affectional preference subset to not bathe for five days, cover themselves in glitter, dust, and sunscreen, wear a skanky neon wig,dance close naked, then say they have a lover back home at the end of the night.

Tear down your house. Put it in a truck. Drive 10 hours in any direction. Put the house back together. Invite everyone you meet to come over and party. When everyone leaves, follow them back to their homes, drink all their booze, and break things.

Buy a new set of expensive camping gear. Break it. Stack all your fans in one corner of your living room.

Put on your most fabulous outfit. Turn the fans on full blast. Dump a vacuum cleaner bag in front of them.

Pitch your tent next to the wall of speakers in a crowded, noisy club. Go to sleep.

Lean back in a chair until that point where you're just about to fall over, but you catch yourself at the last moment. Hold that position for 9 hours.

Only use the toilet in a house that is at least 3 blocks away. Drain all the water from the toilet. Only flush it every 4 days. Hide all the toilet paper.

Visit a restaurant and pay them to let you alternate lying in the walk-in freezer and sitting in the oven.

Don't sleep for 5 days. Take a wide variety of hallucinogenic/emotion altering drugs. Pick a fight with your boyfriend/girlfriend.

Cut, burn, electrocute, bruise, and sunburn various parts of your body. Forget how you did it. Don't go to a doctor.

Buy a new pair of favorite shoes. Throw one shoe away.

Spend a whole year rummaging through thrift stores for the perfect, most outrageous costume. Forget to pack it.

Listen to music you hate for 168 hours straight, or until you think you are going to scream. Scream. Realize you'll love the music for the rest of your life.

Bust your ass for a "community." See all the attention get focused on the drama queen crybaby.

Get so drunk you can't recognize your own house. Walk slowly around the block for 5 hours.

Sprinkle dirty sand in all your food.

Mail $200 to the Reno casino of your choice.

Go to a museum. Find one of Salvador Dali's more disturbing but beautiful paintings. Climb inside it.

Spend thousands of dollars on a deeply personal art work. Hide it in a funhouse on the edge of the city. Blow it up.

Set up a DJ system downwind of a three alarm fire. Play a short loop of drum'n'bass until the embers are cold.

Have a 3 a.m. soul baring conversation with a drag nun in platforms, a crocodile, and Bugs Bunny. Brian Leister, Timmy Edens and Lawrence Haas have created a 25 Mac Pro Octocore machine render farm for the Visual Arts department at the University of Colorado Denver and have teamed up with the Denver Museum of Nature and Science to research and create in the full dome medium.

A render farm is basically a cluster of computers linked together to render computer-generated imagery (CGI), typically for film or television visual effects. In our case, we are creating digital large scale full dome content. Denver Museum of Nature and Science planetarium operations director Dan Neafus has given permission for the university to test out rendered footage on the 55ft dome at Gates Planetarium and it is an honor to use such an amazing establishment.

UCD's Render farm started from my obsession with the geodesic structure and being a VJ (Video Jocky)at the the Local clubs in Denver like THE CHURCH, CLUB VINYL, BETA, CERVANTES, and the BOMB FACTORY warehouse parties. After receiving the Creative Research grant from the College of Arts and Media @ the University of Colorado Denver I joined International Planetarium Society and Domefest and went to the conventions held at the Adler Museum in Chicago, July of 2008. Upon my return to Denver I had the intent to build my first render farm and begin creating full dome content. Assistant Professor Brian Leister was an awesome troubleshooter and confidant through the whole process. Also the Mac Lab director Lawrence Haas has also been a great asset to this project in allowing us to create such a network in the universities Mac Lab.
I will render my thesis on the render farm along with other students at the College of Arts and Media Digital Design department. This under taking has been a successful venture and I am excited to make submissions for Dome festivals around the globe.
Cheers!

EIENSTEINS TELESCOPE and Dr Evalyn Gates

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 211px; height: 320px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_b7t0xx4Gvmk/Sa_1X5H630I/AAAAAAAAAIk/zKgYvUkIl9o/s320/PH2009022002806.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5309732276512939842" />
Last night i had the pleasure of Speaking with Dr. Evalyn Gates
of the theories she proposes about how Dark Matter and Dark Energy
make up 95% of what is. Using the resources at The University of Colorado Denver along with the support of Denver Museum of Nature and Science in an effort to collaborate science with art Timmy Edens has utilized available institutions to push the boundaries of motion graphics, 3-D design, and custom visual projections in the full dome medium. Timmy Edens, aka tim-E, has established the link and nurtured the connection between IMERSA founder Dan Neafus, The UCD College of Arts and Media Dean David Dynak, UCD Apple computer Lab Director Lawrence Haas, Associate Dean/Professor at University of Colorado Denver Visual Arts Department Joanne Brennan, and Assistant Professor of College of Arts and Media Bryan Leister so that UCD Denver can become a channel for future full dome content creation. A class project has been organized to create full dome content for the College of Arts and Media 10yr anniversary held at the Gates Planetarium March 30, 2009. The class consists of BFA Fine Arts Digital Design and Recording Arts students from the University of Colorado Denver (UCD). UCD has state of the Art Mac Labs filled with Octo-Core Mac Pros and Brian Leister, Timmy Edens, and Lawrence Haas have configured this technology to render full dome content. With this model set the University of Colorado Denver College of Arts and Media has the potential to become a world recognized school for full dome content creation.

RL-2-SL Presents Denver's Club beta In Second Life

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_b7t0xx4Gvmk/SUoH3QCIAuI/AAAAAAAAAFo/y_BGO9PWU3M/s320/webbetarl2sl.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5281042158823408354" />Out of the 6,759,902,723 people on the planet 7 minutes ago only about
60,000 are on Second life (secondlife.com) actively with over a million and counting creating accounts. They came up from doing rave fliers to having contracts with North
Face, Burton, and Audi. It is a success story worthy of a double take. I had the
pleasure of visiting Factory Labs and I was uber-impressed. Just Walking to the
Door of Factory Labs gave me the impression that this was a sophisticated operation.
After walking in and getting the tour from my formal teacher Ross Maupin I was convinced Factory was a world class design firm.

Work'n It; Denver Designers

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 200px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_b7t0xx4Gvmk/SQofK7WS5YI/AAAAAAAAAEg/CiouNJQsNAY/s200/Anabliss_Logo_M_medium.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5263053387126203778" />
Recently I visited two Design Firms in the Denver Area.
One was Anabliss Design + Brand Stratagy; a chicly run branding firm located at
32nd and Larimer downtown Denver. The Other was Ironton
Studios which had a more organic illustration based design
feel to it.
Anabliss is a in the mix, connected, talented design firm that
has a lot to offer in the branding world. Their services aren't
about beating the competition it is more about the quality,
usability, and function of the designs.

Ironton Studios is more of an established illustration studio
that has several rotating illustration jobs around the US for
companies like TIME magazine and New York Times. Ironton Studios
has an eclectic life view and it shows through the playful drawings
and doodles that create airy feelings.

SGI Onyx 3400

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 179px; height: 200px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_b7t0xx4Gvmk/SQJF_fUWkQI/AAAAAAAAAEY/LSL1kaE6Blw/s200/onyx3_3400.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5260844271763099906" />

Hi All,

I have just acquired two SGI ONYX 3400 servers to experiment with Fulldome
projections. I will be Moving this Equipment into a Non-Profit Art Space here
in Denver known as the BOMB FACTORY. The Place gets it's name from it's original
use as an Air Force supply warehouse.

I will be accompanying these servers with 4 BARCO/SEOS(upgraded) Projectors
along with the SEOS MERCATOR for Fulldome projection alignment.

If you havent heard of the Onyx 3400 here is a brief description.

The Onyx 3400 Rack Visualization System, 16 x 400MHz R12000 Processors in 4 x C-Bricks, 16GB Memory, InfiniteReality3 Graphics with 256MB Texture and DG5-2, I-Brick, 6-Port R-Brick, 18GB FC System Disk, Power Bay

The ONYX 3400 was Designed from the ground up to support the highest levels of immersive visualization, high performance computing and storage, the SGI Onyx 3000 series with InfiniteReality3 graphics is available in a range of configurations for every level of visual supercomputing. By scaling from 4 CPUs and 1 InfiniteReality3 graphics pipe all the way up to 128 CPUs and 16 graphics pipes, the SGI Onyx 3000 series can solve the most complex problems that an organization faces. You can scale graphics, CPU, storage, and I/O components independently, allowing you to deploy, upgrade, service, expand, and redeploy your system in every possible dimension. With brick-by-brick modularity, you can build and maintain a system optimally, with a level of flexibility that makes obsolescence almost obsolete.

Pro Bono Publico

<img style="margin: 0pt 0pt 10px 10px; Pro bono today is a common practice in our service based reality and refers to professional work that is voluntarily given without payment as a public service. This type of service is usually found in the marketing, technology, and law practices where specific skills of professionals can be utilized by people and companies that are not able to afford them.

Scratch Web Design of Limerick, Ireland is a clean and stylish International and local Web design firm that offers quality pro bono work. After talking with Barra who handles all of Scratch Web Design's (scratchwebdesign.com) pro bono work she stated that "Due to Limited Resources Scratch Web Design only takes on Pro Bono work from Local non-profit organizations and charities." From the website www.scratchwebdesign.com I gathered that Scratch Web Design appreciates and respects the valuable work that non-profit organizations carry out in the local community in their hometown of Limerick City, Ireland. And they are pleased to offer FREE or discounted web design and hosting services to deserving organizations. Pro-bono web design from Scratch Web Design is offered only on a limited basis as resources permit and are available to organizations whose primary source of funding is derived from contributions from the general public.

Scratch Web Design Unfortunately states that Pro bono websites are limited to a maximum of five pages of content and cannot be extended to e-commerce or database driven websites. I have emailed Barra for examples of Scratch Web Designs pro bono work and will follow up on this post. Also soon to come is the Process that Scratch uses when handling pro bono web work.

INSIGHT INTO FULL DOME IMMERSION

Achieving FULL DOME Projections is not Rocket Science but it is
about as technical. The name is also a reference to the allegory of the Cave in Plato's Republic where a philosopher contemplates perception, reality and illusion.

entertainment
Something divertingly adventurous that is produced or performed for an audience. Art of keeping people entertained, various ways of amusing people. Amusement, agreeable occupation for the mind, a performance or exhibition of some kind affording pleasure.

fulldome

Fulldome refers to immersive dome-based video projection environments. The dome, horizontal or tilted, is filled with real-time (interactive) or pre-rendered (linear) computer animations, live capture images, or composited environments. Although the current technology emerged in the early-to-mid 1990’s, fulldome environments have evolved from numerous influences, including immersive art and storytelling, with technological roots in domed architecture, planetariums, multi-projector film environments, flight simulation, and virtual reality. Initial approaches to moving fulldome imagery used wide-angle lenses, both 35- and 70-mm filmstock, but the expense and ungainly nature of the film medium prevented much progress; furthermore, film formats such as Omnimax (Imax Dome) did not cover the full two pi steradians of the dome surface, leaving a section of the dome blank (though, due to seating arrangements, that part of the dome was not seen by most viewers). Later approaches to fulldome utilized monochromatic vector graphics systems projected through a fisheye lens. Contemporary configurations employ raster video projectors, either singly or grouped together to cover the dome surface with full-color images and animations.

immerse
To plunge into, to be submerged, to involve deeply, to be absorbed. To occupy oneself totally with something, to become completely occupied, giving all your time, energy, or concentration to it.

immersive
The term immersive refers to the impression that someone has of being somewhere while, in reality, he is physically in another place.

immersion
Extensive exposure to surroundings or conditions native or pertinent to the object of study. Complete involvement, involvement in something that completely occupies all the time, energy, or concentration available. Immersion (virtual reality) is the state where you cease to be aware of your physical self. It is frequently accompanied by intense focus, distorted sense of time and effortless action. The term is widely used to describe video games, but it is not clear if people are using the same word consistently. The term is also cited as a frequently-used buzzword, in which case its meaning is intentionally vague, but carries the connotation of being particularly engrossing.

immersive digital environment

An immersive digital environment is an artificial, interactive, computer-created scene or “world” within which a user can immerse themselves. Immersive Digital Environments could be thought of as synonymous with Virtual Reality, but without the implication that actual “reality” is being simulated. An Immersive Digital Environment (IDE) could be a model of reality, but it could also be a complete fantasy user interface or abstraction, as long as the user of the environment is immersed within it. The definition of immersion is wide and variable, but here it is assumed to mean simply that the user feels like they are part of the simulated “universe.” The success with which an immersive digital environment can actually immerse the user is dependent on many factors such as believable 3D graphics, surround sound, interactive user-input and other factors such as simplicity, functionality and potential for enjoyment. Additional technologies bring realistic environmental effects to the environment—effects such as wind, seat vibration and ambient lighting.

media
Means of communication that reach or influence people widely. The materials and techniques used by an artist to produce a work. Digital media is the creative convergence of digital arts, science, technology and business for human expression, communication, social interaction and education.

research
Diligent, methodical, systematic investigation into a subject in order to discover, establish or revise facts, theories or applications, or to develop a plan of action based on the facts discovered.

science
A particular branch of systematized knowledge. Precise application of facts or principles gained from the study of the physical and natural world and phenomena, especially by using systematic observation and experiment. Proficiency, knowledge gained by systematic study.
